Introduction

Project Name: Toolbox

Duration: 2 weeks

My Role: User Interface Designer

Team Members: Solo Project

Project Overview

Toolbox is a user-friendly web application designed to simplify the process of booking handy services such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and more. This UX case study will delve into the design process, challenges faced, and user-centered solutions implemented to create an intuitive and efficient platform for users seeking skilled professionals for their home improvement needs.

Problem Statement

The primary challenge was to design a handy services booking app that would:

1. Allow users to easily find and book local service providers.
2. Provide a seamless booking experience, including scheduling and payment.
3. Ensure trust and reliability by showcasing the skills and reviews of service providers.

User Research

To gain insights into the target audience, I conducted user research, including:

- Surveys
- User Interviews
- Competitor Analysis

Key Findings

From my research, we identified the following user needs and pain points:

- Difficulty Finding Services: Users struggled to find trustworthy local service providers.
- Complex Booking Process: Existing apps had cumbersome booking and payment processes.
- Lack of Trust: Users sought reviews, ratings, and portfolios to ensure the quality of service.

Information Architecture

I restructured the information architecture to create an easy-to-navigate platform:

- A user-friendly search and filter system for finding local service providers.
- Streamlined booking process with scheduling and integrated payment options.
- Comprehensive service provider profiles showcasing skills, ratings, reviews, and portfolios.

Visual Design

The visual design aimed to convey trust, reliability, and ease of use:

- A clean and modern design with a friendly color palette and typography.
- User-friendly icons and visual cues for intuitive navigation.

Conclusion

The Toolbox Handy Services Booking App project aimed to bridge the gap between users and local service providers while ensuring a seamless and trustworthy booking experience. Through comprehensive user research, iterative design, and usability testing, I successfully created a user-centric application that meets the needs of individuals seeking reliable handy services.
